Keith Baar

The goal of Keith's work is to understand the molecular determinants of muscle development and the role of exercise in improving health and performance. Dr Keith Baar is Canadian born, but received his Bachelor’s in Kinesiology from the University of Michigan where he also served as an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach. He then received a Master’s from the University of California, Berkeley while teaching strength and conditioning and his Ph.D from the University of Illinois. He did his postdoctoral studies on the molecular with one of the biggest names in the field: John Holloszy at Washington University in St. Louis. Keith worked in Dundee in Scotland before he moved to the University of California in Davis. Over the last 20 years, Keith has worked with many elite athletes and teams.
