Lectures
mysportscience academy invites world-leading experts to discuss popular topics in sports nutrition. We also have lectures from conferences, such as the WE Nutrition Conference and the TeamNL Leaders in Performance conference. Lecture topics include ‘Carbohydrate recommendations for performance’, ‘Weight management in athletes’, and ‘The vegetarian and vegan athlete’ and more!
"Lectures are useful if you want to gain a quick overview on a specific topic."
For example, in the lecture ‘Is breakfast the most important meal of the day?’, Professor James Betts discusses the long-standing claim around the importance of breakfast. In this lecture, James not only guides the learner through the science behind the claim but also explores the broader influence of time and activity or exercise on the food we eat.

Courses
Our courses are typically a collection of lectures on a related topic. Courses include 3-6 hours of learning material, to provide a comprehensive overview of a specific topic. Here, each new talk aims to build on concepts discussed in the previous section to provide you with a thorough overview. After going through the course content, you will take an exam at the end to test your knowledge on the key content covered throughout the course.
"Courses are best for those wanting a ‘deep dive’ into a specific topic."
For example, in our ‘Nutrition for running’ course, the first talk includes an overview of fuel use and fuel availability during running. The following section then sets the science for hydration, breaking down the role of fluid intake and the implications of dehydration for running performance. In the following two sections, these fuelling and hydration principles are applied to marathon running and ultra-running.

Courses also include relevant further reading material, including blogs and research articles on the topic to help deepen your understanding beyond the content discusses in the talks.
Webinars
Our live webinars offer a more interactive learning opportunity. Webinars typically take place at 16:00 CET and include 2-3 speakers for a total of 3 talks, during a 2-hour session. In our webinars, our expert speakers provide an overview of a specific topic.
"Webinars provide a comprehensive update on a specific topic, with the opportunity to ask your questions live."
For example, in the webinars 'The latest on creatine' or 'Altitude training' our speakers emphasise the latest science, providing you with an overview of what the new science means for guidelines and practice. Our webinars also include a Q&A session, where you can ask the experts the questions you have always wanted to know. The webinar recording, as well as the Q&A session recording is then edited and uploaded for you to watch on-demand afterwards.
